Thankful day 8 Homeschooling

How do I show how we homeschool?  Well I guess the best is just some pictures of our life because to me all we do is part of our learning adventure.

Some reading at the beach.

Some reading on the couch. Notice the dogs get lots of school too.

Playing games.

Volunteering at the church.

Using ladybugs to help with our plants.

Organizing supplies for a scout merit badge.

Playing music.

I am so thankful that I am able to teach my kids at home.  I never thought this would how we would do life, but I am so happy that we do.  I am Thankful that Buck works hard so that I might be at home.

Thankful day 6 and 7

#6 playing games out side.

#7 playing games inside.
Our family loves to play games.  not just the 5 of us but our extended family too.    When home visiting ,  often times we stay up late into  the night playing.   I think is is a great way to visit and still be doing something.

Day 5 of Thankfulness

Today I am Thankful for this crazy San Diego weather.  It was supposed to be about 89 here at the beach.   I really don't think in got  quite that high.   We thought we would try the pool, but sadly because it hasn't bean to warm lately the water temp was still a little to chilly.

The boys still tried for a few minutes.

I think they lasted about 10 min.  but really it was a beautiful day.
Personally I like the cool weather, but it is nice to have a nice warm beautiful day  pop in.

I am so thankful for my first born child.  She is the light of my life.  I lover her so much.  I miss her so much now that she has move across the country.  When it was her time to move out I just kept telling myself this is what I was meant to do raise her and let her go.

I love what a wonderful  sister she has been to her brothers.

Next my second born, what an adventure he has been.  I love his since of life and adventure and just plain love of life.

I am so thankful for his love of life and his kind heart.

And my third born Cody, the baby. What a fun spirit he is he love trying new things.  He love hanging out with his mama.
Just look at his smile,  he is just awesome.

I am so thankful for all of my children and the things they have brought into my life  and the things that they have taught me.  I have grown so much having these children and learning to be the mother they need me to be.

Day 1 Dogs.

Today I am thankful for my silly dogs.

These dogs they are so crazy,  when Buck has to leave Soda get so  anxious .  This is her in between my legs and what ever I am standing next to.  She needs extra love when her daddy is away.

They cost us fortune.  Man the fleas have been crazy this year and  we have had to get the frontline , give them flea baths spray them with peppermint and finally I think we are rid of them.

But then you catch them being so good,  They are not allowed on the couch unless the blanket is on.  They kept looking at the couch laying their head on the couch while the blanket was in the wash.  They were so excited when I put the blanket on they jumped right up and went to sleep.

And then the great love they have for they're boys.  Hunter was giving His boy some much needed love. and snuggles.
So I love them crazy but they drive me crazy too.

Alchemy (that's what the boys call it)

Well I began using and selling doTerra essential Oils, and I have been having lots of fun making all kinds of things.  Since Buck has been away for the last couple weeks I have tried quite a bit of new concoctions.  I started with a face moisturizer. I liked it so I tried some more.  A pump-able lotion, a hard lotion, some lip balm, deodorant, a little lotion for my Tennis elbow, a oatmeal lotion for using after Cody's casts came off, athletes foot cream, athletes foot powder and athletes foot spray.  I also use the oils in the house to make it smell good, for cleaning the toilets, laundry soap, and a all purpose cleaning spray.

I think these were the  ingredients for the face cream.

these were for the hand lotion.

I  really like this one.

Hard lotion, I really l like this idea, but haven't figured out how to store it.  It is made with coconut oil, bee's wax, and shea butter,   and other things but can melt a little if left in the heat so if you are taking it somewhere you need to keep it in something.

This is what I made tonight.  Lip balm with bees wax, almond oil, honey, vitamin e oil, and of course some oils.  I used peppermint and two drops of ylang, ylang.  I put it on my lips and so far I like it.

So here are just a few of the things  I have made. I am having fun.

Cody's Broken Arms

O.K.  so this is the story.  We were at a wonderful beach camp out in South Carlsbad State park.  we had a awesome day at the beach we heeded to the water at like 9:00 A.M. and spent the whole day there.  Buck took both boys out to surf and then they boogie boarded and swam and hung out with friends until almost 5:00 P.M.
That is when things went wrong.  Buck and I were making dinner (really yummy pizza in the dutch oven)  Cody headed out to skate board and Justin was playing some card games with some friends.   next thing I know Our friend Kelly ran over to our campsite and says cody crashed BAD.   we ran to check him and we knew right away that his right arm was broken.  Buck and I undid the Camper Van so he could take Cody to the hospital.  We tried to have him hold his right arm with his left but he said that hurt to much.
This is the x-ray of the right arm and yes it was defiantly broken.  Buck texted and let us know that actually both arms were broken.  Justin and I packed up the rest of camp and waited for Buck to come and pick us up.

So Buck came and got us and we headed home.  the next morning we had to take him in to Balboa Hospital to get casts.  He was in lots of pain.  In the picture above you can see he also had a pretty scraped up leg.

Getting the car was not fun at all.  I really should have stayed home and let Buck take him in but I didn't. The had to really Reduce the arms so it was very painful for the little guy.

With another arm still to go we thought about putting him to sleep so he wouldn't be in so much pain but the area who take care of this were short handed and could not fit him in.  So instead they got him some perkiest and then he was a little loopy but it was still a lot of pain.

See he was feeling O.K. here but it wore off pretty quick.
He pretty much got to sit and watch t.v. for a whole week.  keeping his arms elevated at all times.

Sadly we had a planned trip to Disney land a week after the casts were put on that could not be changed.  So we put poor cody in a wheel chair and went any way.
We still had lots of fun there.  How could you not it is Disneyland.

One week in Cody had to get new X- Rays to check on progress and sadly the break in his right arm had shifted some and so they had to reposition it and put a new cast on that goes all the way up to his armpit.
We retured to the Hospital yesterday for new X-Rays  and everything looked good.  So for now there will be no surgery, They want to see us next week to check one more time for slippage.
We are thankful for all of the prayers we received and we are so glad that Cody will not have to have surgery.
This is all in the life of a boy.
